Information on Battery Disposal

In connection with the sale of batteries or the supply of devices containing batteries, we are obliged to inform you of the following:

As an end user, you are legally required to return used batteries. You may return waste batteries free of charge to our shipping warehouse (dispatch address), provided that we carry or have carried such batteries as new batteries in our product range.

The symbols displayed on the batteries have the following meanings:
The symbol of the crossed-out wheeled bin indicates that the battery must not be disposed of with household waste.

  • Pb = Battery contains more than 0.004% lead by mass
  • Cd = Battery contains more than 0.002% cadmium by mass
  • Hg = Battery contains more than 0.0005% mercury by mass

Special Provisions for the Sale of Starter Batteries

In connection with the sale of vehicle (starter) batteries, and insofar as you are an end user, we are obliged pursuant to Section 10 of the German Battery Act (BattG) to charge a deposit in the amount of EUR 7.50 (including VAT) per vehicle battery, unless you return a used vehicle battery at the time of purchase of a new one.

This deposit is not included in the purchase price and will be shown separately alongside the final price of the product.

If you return a used vehicle battery to us which we carry or have carried as a new battery in our product range pursuant to Section 9 BattG, we are legally obliged to accept it free of charge and to refund the deposit.

Where a deposit token has been issued in accordance with Section 10 (1) sentence 3 BattG, reimbursement of the deposit is conditional upon the return of such deposit token together with the used vehicle battery.

The place of return is the address stated in the legal notice (imprint).

The return of used batteries by post is not permitted due to hazardous goods regulations.

Alternatively, used vehicle batteries may be disposed of free of charge at public collection and recycling centers. However, deposits collected by us will not be refunded by such public authorities. You may, however, obtain confirmation of the return on the deposit token at such facilities. Upon presentation of the confirmed deposit token, we will refund the battery deposit.
